I conceived the idea of combining a metal handle with my porcelain when looking at Byzantine glass wine coolers at the museum of St Marks, Venice, which would have had silver handles fitted to them.

I have found a wonderful creative ironworker, Tony Ingarfield who developed this handle in response to my teapot.
