Joanna Howells' Potters Mark
Enduring Ephemeral

Developed since 2012 - work in progress.

Porcelain and stoneware incorporating living plant material. Fired and 'fossilised' using a novel etching technique developed by the artist.

The traces of living plant materials create hyper-real impressionistic surfaces.

Some surfaces created with the help of insects such as dock beetles that create fractal patterns.

Developed in association with Arts Council Wales and Botanic Garden Wales.
